Hadith 3

Unknown

Salam alaekun warahmatullah wabarahkatuh

I bear witness that there is no one worthy of worship except Allah (swt) and that Mohammed is his Slave and messenger

Today, we will be taking a quick review of hadith No 3 In shaa Allah

Hadith 3: Pillars of Islam
Ibn Umar reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and
blessings be upon him, said:
Islam is built upon five: to worship Allah and to
disbelieve in what is worshiped besides him, to establish
prayer, to give charity, to perform Hajj pilgrimage to the House, and to fast the month of Ramadan.

This hadith has been said to be part of hadith no 2 discussed yesterday  but it is repeated again because it stresses the fundamental aspects of outward submission to Allah based on the the 5 pillars of Islam to lay a solid foundation

They are;

1. The shahadah is the first pillar and the most essential part of Islam without which a person cannot be said to be a Muslim. It is testifying that there is no diety worthy of worship except Allah and that mohammed  (SAW) is the messanger of Allah. We must worship Allah with sincerity,  certainty, love, truthfulness,  knowledge and of course with total submission.  We must also carry out our deeds in accordance to the way and manner prescribed by the prophet.

2. Salah just doesn't mean the routine exercise of bowing and prostrating,  it involves performing wudu properly, performing salah at its right time and if possible in congregation in total submission with humility in accordance with  the directives of the prophet (SAW).

3. Zakat means both purification and growth. Allah has made it obligatory on the Muslims to pay a certain amount  (2.5%) in zakah when their wealth exceeds a minimum amount  (nisab) and a year has passed since that amount has been accumulated.  It is generally measured using 85g of gold or 595g of silver or its equivalent.  This portion of the wealth is given to the needy in the society to reduce poverty amongst the ummah.

4. Pilgrimage to the House of Allah (kaabah ) is an obligation we need to do only once (according to majority of the schorlars) in our life time. It should be done as soon as a person is financially, physically and mentally able to do so with the sole intention of obeying Allah and his Rasul.

5. Fasting in the month of Ramadan is an opportunity for muslim once in a year to restrain themselves for a specified period of time from their worldly desires and totally submit themselves to Almighty Allah in order to gain enormous rewards and have their sins forgiven.

In conclusion,  we cannot remind ouelrselves enough of these basic 5 pillars of islam as they are the foundation of our deen. Also, the pillars of Islam have rulings,  conditions and mannerisms attached to them and it is important that we know them and remind ourselves from time to time in order to gain maximum rewards for our deeds both in this world and in the hereafter.

Jazalallahukhairan for your time and patience. Asalam alaekun warahmatullah wabarahkatuh.

Hadith 1 of 40 Hadiths of Imam Nawawi

Unknown

As regards his book 40 Hadith of Imam Nawawi, he can be quoted to have said "Everyone  who  desires  and  looks  forward  to  the Hereafter  must  be  familiar  with  these  hadith  because  they cover  the  most  important  aspects  of  the  religion  and  off er direction  to  all  forms  of  obedience  to  Allah.

This  is  clear  to anyone  who  ponders  these  hadith.  I  rely  only  upon  Allah and  I  entrust  my  affair  only  to  Him.  To  Him  is  all  the Praise  and  grace,  from  Him  is  guidance  and  protection f rom  error".

The commentaries on the hadith are by scholars of islam and this comments  are based on Quran and Sunnah.
"Actions are (judged) by motives  (niyyah), so  each man  will have what he intended. Thus, he whose migration  (hijrah)  was to Allah and His Messenger,  his migration is to Allah and His Messenger; but he whose migration was for some worldly thing he might gain, or for a wife he might marry, his migration is to  that for which he migrated." [Al-Bukhari & Muslim]

This Hadith was Narrated by Amirul Mu'minin, Abu Hafs 'Umar bin al-Khattab, (RA)

This was as a result of a man who migrated from Makkah to Medinah for the sole purpose of marrying a woman and not for the sake of Allah (swt)And his messenger (saw)

This Hadith helps a muslim evaluate and judge what one does and says in one's daily life

One earns reward with his heart, tongue and body cos intention is involved in all this three components

According to Ibn Tamiya, the scholars agreed that the place of intention is in the heart/conscience and not the tongue because making a statement is not the same as having an intention to do something,

Also, this Hadith tells us about the importance of doing good deeds solely for the sake of Allah (swt) ie sincerity to Allah(swt) in our deeds (Ikhlaas)

As Ikhlaas is one of the condition of acceptance of good deeds. Sincerity in our deeds needs to be protected cos we could get carried away by some things such as
Riya( Show off) eg doing things to impress or get attention from people around us eg during Salaat, trying to show people we know how to pray,
Hypocrisy,
Shrik, associating partners with Allah, (swt)
Committing sins,( this decreases our eeman)

In conclusion,
We can say from this Hadith that :
A  person  will  achieve  whatever  he  intended.  If he  intended  good,  good  will come  about.  If he  intended  evil,  evil  will  come  about-that  is,  the  result will  be  evil  for  him. If  a  person  does  a  proper  deed  solely  for  the  sake  of  Allah,  his  purpose would  have  been  met  and  the  deed  would  be  accepted by  Allah
Also,
This  world  and  the  opposite  sex  in  particular  are  two  aspects  that  drive  a person  to  perform  certain  deeds.  They  can  have  great  influences  over  a person,  to  the  extent  that  one  may  even  perform  noble  deeds  not  for  the sake  of Allah  but  for  their  sake.

Intermingling

Unknown

Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem.

Mixing or intermingling is a general term, which includes that which is permissible and that which is prohibited.

If it is merely men and women gathering in an open space to perform shared work, whether religious or non-religious, that in itself is not prohibited, as long as the Islamic code of behavior is followed, in terms of Hijab, lowering the gaze, and the like.

Women must keep away from men and vice versa as much as possible.

If mingling is about men and women socializing and mixing together closely and freely, this follows the basic principle of prohibition, as long as there is no exigent need according to the criteria of Shari`ah.

The prohibition of free mixing, particularly between people of young age is based on many proofs, of them, the following:

The saying of Allah, “And stay in your houses, and do not display yourselves like that of the times of ignorance, and perform As-Salat, and give Zakat and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah wishes only to remove Ar-Rijs (evil deeds and sins, etc.) from you, O members of the family (of the Prophet), and to purify you with a thorough purification.) (Al-Ahzab 33:33)

If settling at homes to prevent fitnah is obligatory on the Mothers of the Believers, since the address is firstly directed to them, the generality of 'illah “effective cause of ruling” in Allah's saying, “to remove Ar-Rijs from you” indicates that others are included, for Allah is not pleased with sins for any believing woman. As Muslims we should strive to obey Allah and His Messenger as much as we can, disobedience only causes troubles in our life. May Allah protect us from any satanic influences. Aameen.

The meaning of Al- Salafiyah

Unknown

What is the meaning of "Al-Salafiyah"? And to whom are they attributed? And is it permissible to deviate from the understanding of the Righteous Predecessors (Salaf) in the explanation of Religious Texts? (00:06:30)

He answered:
I will say a true word after which no Muslim can argue, after the truth becomes clear to him.

First of all, the Salafee da'wah is an ascription to what? 'Salafee' is an ascription to the 'Salaf' (the pious predecessors), so we have to know who the Salaf are when scholars of Islam refer to 'Al-Salaf', and then what this ascription means and its importance in regards to its meaning and implication.

The Salaf are the people of the first three generations whom the Messenger of Allah (Salah Allah 'Alayhi wa Salam) declared to be good and rigteous, in the authentic and mutawaatir hadith narrated by al-Bukhaari, Muslim, and others through a group of the Companions that he [i.e. Prophet Muhammad] said: "The best of people are my generation, then those who come after them, then those who come after them.".
These first three generations that Prophet Muhammad testified that they are good and righteous are the Salaf. So the Salafees attach themselves to the Salaf. After we have known the meaning of 'Salaf' and 'Salafee' then we should bear two things in mind.

The first: That this ascription and attachment is not to a single person or a few people, as is the case with other Jamaa'ahs (groups) that are present in the Muslim world today. This is not an attachment to a person or even tens of people, but this is an ascription to a group which will not err.

That is because the Righteous Predecessors would never agree upon falsehood, and it is impossible that the Salaf would unite upon an error, as opposed to the Khalaf (the people of later generations). With regard to the later generations, there is no text speaking in their favour, on the contrary, their majority are generally spoken of with ill, such as in the end of the previous hadeeth when he [peace be upon him] said: "Then there will come a people who give witness and their witness is not asked for...", and in another hadith you can see Prophet Muhammad [Peace be upon him] praising a small group of people, but censuring the remaining majority as can be understood when he said: "A Taa'ifah (small group) of my Ummah will not cease to be upon the truth, not being harmed by those who oppose them, until Allah's command comes" or"until the Hour is established".
So this Prophetic tradition gave praise at the end of times to a specific Taa'ifah, and linguistically, 'Taa'ifah' refers to a small group composed of a single person or more.

Do Not Judge So Quickly

Unknown

DO NOT JUDGE So Quickly!!
A doctor entered the hospital in hurry after being
called in for an urgent
surgery. He answered the call asap, changed his
clothes and went directly to the surgery block.
He found the boy's mother going and coming in
the hall waiting for the
doctor. On seeing him, the mother yelled: "Why
did you take all this time to come?Don't you
know that my son's life is in danger? Don't you
have
the sense of responsibility? "
The doctor smiled and said: "I am sorry, I wasn't
in the hospital and
I came the fastest I could after receiving the
call..And now, I wish you'd calm down so that I
can do my work" "Calm down?!
What if your son was in this room right now,
would you calm down? said the mother angrily.
The doctor smiled again and replied: Doctors
cannot prolong lives. Go and intercede for your
son, we will do our best by God's grace"
"Giving advice when we're not concerned is so
easy"
Murmured the mother. The surgery took some
hours after
which the doctor went out happy,"Thank
goodness!, your son is saved!"
And without waiting for the mother's reply he
carried on his way running.
"If you have any question, ask the nurse!!"
"Why is he so arrogant? He couldn't wait some
minutes so that I ask about
my son's state" commented the mother when
seeing the nurse minutes after the doctor left.
The nurse answered, tears coming down her
face:
"His son died yesterday in a road accident, he
was in the burial when we
called him for your son's surgery. And now that
he saved your son's life, he left running to finish
his son's burial."
Moral:- Never Judge Anyone on your own way.
Because You never know how their life is and
what they're going through!Whatever you may be
facing maybe a minor problem to them, because
they are facing a major issue.Learn to trust God
without judging others unfairly.God bless you

Give Meaning To Your Salaht

Unknown

GIVE MEANING TO YOUR SALAHT….

But why do you really pray?
Do you pray because you need something?
Do you pray because you want something?
Do you pray because you are just told so? Come, think of it, and ask yourself, why do you pray?

Many thoughts are coming now to your mind, right?
Yes, we have all our own reasons why we pray to Allaah, but before anything else, let it be known that you pray because it is not because you are told so but because you are obliged to do so, it is the first pillar of Islam.
Realize that Allah never gets tired of Providing and Sustaining for your needs, He forgives you as long as you repent yet when He calls you to pray and have a talk with Him, you refuse?
Salah is a gift and a mercy from Allah.
It is the best form of giving thanks to Allah, best way to have a talk with him and pour everything that is in your heart without being ashamed because you know Allaah can be the only One who can bring such comfort in your heart, you know that when you pour out your feelings to Him, He comforts it by letting your tears fall from your eyes which in return gives such relief in you, have you ever notice that?
Yes, when we cry, we release all out the stress, hatred and pain away from our hearts, that is a mercy from Allah, so when you cry it doesn’t mean you are weak, it just means that you are being comforted by Allah, there is nothing wrong on crying. It is a gift, so embrace it.

When you pray, concentrate, do not be fast on uttering the words of the Qur’an, feel every word, there is nothing wrong if you take long in salaah, it is a moment gifted to you by Allah , so make it count.
When you pray, Stay focused, remember sooner or later, death may come upon you, so pray as if it is your last, cry, because with all the sins we have committed, we should cry, cry out for forgiveness from Him, for every minute that we have displeased Him, He tells us…

Muhammad sallallahu allaihi wassalaam said in a Hadith Qudsi that Allaah said:"O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind.
O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great as its.”

Subhan’Allaah, how can a heart full of sins cannot call out for forgiveness to the One Who says I will forgive you?Every time, every time and i mean every single time we pray our Salaah, make it the most meaningful one. Make it so meaningful that your du’a would make the angels say Amin with you. When you got lost, He didn’t put you astray more, rather He called you back, wallahi He gave you that honor back, so why are you putting this honor away by not praying?

We are bound to return to our Lord soon, either I go first or you go, all of us will.
So make everyday count, you are given 5 gifts everyday, open it, fill it, embrace it and make use of it. Remember, not all the people in this world is given this honor of having a talk with Him 5 times a day, We are blessed for we are Muslims and Allaah Azza Wa Jalla honored us that.
Now, are you up for another talk with ALLAH?

The Lion Of Allah

Unknown

Hamza Bn AbdulMuddalib, was the one referred to as "The Lion of Allah"

He was Prophet Muhammad's uncle (younger brother to his dad), his companion, his good friend and his brother (because the same woman took care of both of them when they were young).

Hamza used to hunt a lion singlehandedly and bring the body on his shoulder.

He was very brave at the Battle filed.

He was among the first set that faced one on one with the non believers at the Battle of Badr.

He was killed by a black slave in the person of Wahshy at the Battle of Uhud.

Wahshy later reverted to Islam.

May Allah have mercy on them all.

World Hijab Day Awareness

Mufti Ismail Menk 2

We cannot base global ideas only on our own sitation. We must deeply consider what is happening to others too. Hijab is being banned in a growing number of places.
People are misinformed regarding hijab. Democracies may soon vote to ban it based on majority view.
This had happened in some places. We need to educate them.
If we don't educate them we will be guilty of allowing misconceptions to grow without doing anything meaningful to educate and create positive awareness.
We can ask them to enrol to a one day school can't we? We can ask them to attend a seminar once a year can't we? We can ask them to distribute pamphlets can't we? We can ask them to try it out and see how they feel can't we?

There is no special salaah or thikr or ibaadah but merely a one day school where pamphlets are distributed, tables are set for street dawah and people have the chance to clear their misconceptions first hand and have a feel of the hijab first hand.

It is clear from your opinion thay you live in a country where hijab is not yet banned or blocked or stigmatised. Thank Allah for that. But if you follow what's happening in other places you will appreciate the need to educate the masses and encourage Muslims who have succumbed to various types of pressure to abandon what they believe is a duty or who haven't built the courage to adopt it yet etc etc.

Those who call it a celebration, have failed to see the light. Bid'ah is the last word to be used because it doesn't fall under any category of acts of worship. It is merely a "means" of educating, so the time and duration can be worked out according to the convenience of all parties to create the biggest impact. Such as a school's timings and duration of lessons and number of puplis in the class and and and.

No celebration or partying.
No dancing.
No food and drink.
No sweets and chocolates.
No extra Qur'aan or prayers.
No acts of worship.

Only educating and awareness.

Street dawah tables at malls and stalls and flea markets every weekend have the same concept but on a smaller scale.

May Allah Almighty grant us a deep understanding.

World Hijab Day

WORLD HIJAB DAY

It may be argued that the World Hijab day is necessary to explain the purpose and objective of hijab to non-Muslims. The answer is a BIG NO. . This deen is complete and we do not need any innovation. Since the beginning of Islam, non-Muslims have questioned the morals and laws of Islam.
This is one of their common strategies to reject the truth. Why Muslim women wear hijab is simply one such question. Numerous books and treatises have been written about this question, where our scholars have eloquently explained why Muslim women wear hijab. Yet, and this is expected, non-Muslims till ask us why Muslim women wear hijab.

Do you think the World Hijab Day will finally convince non-Muslims about hijab and make them to like it?

By Allah, the World Hijab Day will never be able to convince them about hijab.

That is why we have no option but to go to the roots. We have to draw the dividing line. That dividing line is the basis of our deen. It is tawheed-the oneness of Allah. It is all about accepting Allah as Lord and accepting Muhammad (ﷺصلى الله عليه و سلم) as His final messenger.

Imam Ahmad (May Allah have mercy on him) said, “Nothing will rectify the later part of this ummah except what rectified the first part.” Our scholars and righteous predecessors have always emphasized preaching tawheed first and foremost. Unless someone accepts Allah as the Lord and Muhammad (ﷺصلى الله عليه و سلم) as His messenger, every possible explanation will appear meaningless.

Therefore, if you want to make non-Muslims understand why our women wear hijab, preach tawheed.

Preach the oneness of Allah. Explain it to them.

Do not create an innovation like the World Hijab day.

Do not compromise your modesty and hijab.

Do not compromise your obedience to Allah and His Messenger.

Do not present yourself like feminists.

Be proud of your Muslim identity and do not censor it for the approval of non-Muslims.

Do not look for endorsements and solidarity from them...

Women Organizing lectures, rally n protest in trying to clarify falsehood from haqq in front of the non-sharia govt its an error...

Abandon innovations and follow the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺصلى الله عليه و سلم).

Abandon the World Hijab day.

In conclusion, let us remember the poignant sermon of the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه و سلمﷺ), which shook the hearts of the companions and caused their eyes to shed tears, where he (صلى الله عليه و سلمﷺ) gave us stern warning about innovating in religion:

Abu Najih Al-Irbad bin Sariyah (رضى الله عنه) reported,

“The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) delivered an eloquent sermon, which greatly moved us and sent a wave of fear into our hearts and our eyes shed tears. We said to him, ‘This sermon seems like the last advice; then tell us something more as advice.’ He (صلى الله عليه و سلمﷺ) said, ‘I advise you to fear Allah (because of your obligations to Allah) and to hear and obey even a slave who may be put in authority over you. Those of you who survive me will notice many differences. It will be incumbent upon you to follow my sunnah(tradition) and the practices of my rightly guided successors (caliphs) and hold fast with these precepts and traditions and beware of innovations and inventions in religion, because every innovation leads to the wrong path.’” (Abu Dawud and Tirmidhi)

O Allah! Grant us the knowledge to differentiate between bidah and sunnah, and give us the to act upon the sunnah. Ameen!

World Hijab Day

World Hijab Day is not a celebration. It is not a festival. It is an awareness drive aimed at educating, encouraging and breaking down barriers as to what "hijab" is all about.

Just like we have annual seminars, conferences, conventions, workshops and campaigns, the first of February is set aside and dedicated to our Muslim females who don the hijab and to get others acquainted with it.

The awareness drive is similar to other initiatives held on a yearly basis. Through it, we hope to spread the message that it is our duty to don the correct hijab not for just a day but every single day. Wearing the hijab is not a one-off thing and this message needs to be stressed repeatedly.

This awareness drive gives the opportunity to those who have yet to build the courage and give the much-needed push to take that significant first step. It also provides a platform to those who are misinformed and have misconceptions about the hijab to clear their doubts and seek clarification.

For those who are inquisitive as to what the hijab is all about, this awareness drive will hopefully allow you to get a firsthand feel of it.
Personally, I have seen so much benefit from World Hijab Day and have known and heard of experiences from those who have been impacted positively from this awareness drive.
I wish the organizers of World Hijab Day the very best and hope all involved will help towards the success of this educational drive. ‪#‎WorldHijabDay‬
